Dream-Time

Fuelled by the hum of infinity,
mind engages, body joins in,
opening the heart out into the soul,
becoming the song.

Strands of resonance,
spinning threads of light,
weave a sonic tapestry
that shelters dream-time.

Caught up from within to within,
willingly caught innerly within,
dream-time is the ever-growing realization
that here is where life begins and never ends.

Emerging from this music
into music, from being into
newness, next and beyond,
the song of life finds its wings.

Lent

Cloudy gates open arms
so endless streams of light
can pour out their golden warmth,
purling, puddling and pooling,
to drown the chill of winter within fire.

Immersed in that glow,
so like the lighting of a lamp,
verily, my heart turns,
in complete surrender,
to be quenched within fire.

Consumed in Your flames,
there is no diminution of light,
neither am I diminished or spent,
but rather luxuriate within You:
fire-matched, melded, magnified within Fire.

called up the mountain,
beyond the ring of clouds,
to a place beyond place,
and into the ring of fire.

brought to the summit,
the eyeglass of the world,
where dwells the Holy One,
to be the eyes of God.

the price of this vision,
once the audience is over,
is the pilgrim’s blind return
to lead by inner sight.
